Iso-Grund

Water-based isolating primer, mild smell, for interior and exterior use. White, tension-free. Very good isolating performance against nicotine, soot and water stains, as well as lignin residues on gypsum board. Also isolating stains of tar and bitumen. Excellent adhesion on substrates such as wood, old coatings, glass, non-ferrous metals, prime-coated iron or steel, tiles, plastics (test first). For subsequent coating you can use dispersion paints.

Application Area:
For both new buildings and renovation, use directly on substrates such as gypsum, plasterboards, concrete, mortar, wood. For subsequent coatings you can use resin plasters, dispersion paints or light wallpapers. Also compatible with styro-foam.

Application characteristics
Application:
Brush / roller / spray (airless). During drying place food and cigarettes outside. Usually JONAS
Iso-Grund can be painted over with water-based paints after 4 to 6 hours (depending on temperature and humidity).
JONAS Iso-Grund may not be exposed to rain, therefore quick painting over is necessary if used outside.
Underground:
Needs to be clean, dry, and solid. Do not apply on distempers. Usually a pre-treatment of the underground is not necessary. But if necessary you can use JONAS Hydro-Haft-& Tiefgrund first to consolidate the underground. For underground treatment and application VOB, part C, DIN 18363 and the relevant BFS information must be observed.
Coating build-up:
Brush / roller: ready-to-use = use without any dilution. (Any dilution reduces the isolating effect).
Airless:

The exact spraying parameters depend on the type of spraying unit and should be determined individually for every object.
Final coating with e.g. JONAS Iso-Matt-Aqua or JONAS Doppeldecker
In case JONAS Iso-Grund is used as prior coating outside, use JONAS paints for exterior use on silicon-resin or dispersion base as final coating.
Spreading rate per coating:
Approx. 100 ml/m² on smooth underground (if necessary test on the wall).
Application temperature:
At least + 5°C (Degrees Celsius) for air and underground during application and drying.
Drying:
The surface of the coating is dry and can be painted over after 8 - 10 hours (at a temperature of 20 °C and a relative atmospheric humidity of 65 %). High humidity, low temperatures and low air exchange extend the hardening and drying time.
Tinting:
Product can be tinted with max. 3 % universal tinting pastes (with reservation, check suitability first). Tinting may lead to variations in the technical data.
Remark: Do not tint with customary dispersion tinting paints. Do not mix with dispersion paints.
Colour accuracy: property conditions have an influence on colour accuracy and the uniformity of colour. The following conditions should be avoided:
a. Irregularly sucking substrate
b. Different surface humidity in the substrate
c. Patches with different alkalinity and / or ingredients from the substrate
Cleaning of tools:
Clean with water immediately after use.

Storage:
Cool, but not freezing.
Shelf-life:
Can be stored for at least 12 months after date of filling (see additional sticker) if stored properly in the unopened original packaging.

Waste disposal:
Empty containers can be disposed for recycling. Any dried residues of material can be disposed of as construction waste or together with domestic garbage. Containers with liquid material residues must be disposed of according to local regulations. For further information, please contact your local waste authority.
Advice acc. to CLP:
Keep out of reach of children. Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist. Wear appropriate respiratory protection (full mask / half mask equipped with filter type A2/P2). Avoid eating, drinking and smoking during use of the product. Ensure good ventilation during and after application. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Contains: 1,2-Benzisothiazol-3(2H)-on; CIT and MIT (3:1):
